Grain Whisky
There are only two types of Scotch whisky that are made in Scotland, Single Malt & Single Grain. As a result, whisky from north o' the boarder will be a combination of both. Single grain Scotch whisky is made from grain such as maize or wheat together with barley using a different process of distillation to the traditional pot still. Grain Scotch whisky is distilled in a continuous process using the Coffey Still of which there are significantly less in operation than single malt Scotch whisky.
