The distillery was established in Pershire in the central Highlands in 1896 by John Dewars and Sons who are now famous for the blended whisky of the same name; it was originally constructed to supply single malt whisky to Dewars blends. The name Aberfeldy means "Mouth of the Pheallaidh Burn" and contributes to Dewars White Label, Dewars Ancestor and Black and White. Check out the Aberfeldy Distillery.
